The IRS started accepting returns on January 27th, 2020. Most refunds will be issued by the IRS in less than 21 days after the return has been accepted. Timing of your refund my vary.

This chart provides estimated dates you could receive your refund for the 2020 tax season. This estimate is if you have submitted everything correctly and are not claiming any tax breaks that could cause a delay. Please note those that claim Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit may experience a refund hold. Filers with these credits will not see an update to their refund status for several days after Feb. 15.
